About

Gabrielle Bridges

I am a digital artist living in Victoria, Australia.

I celebrate nature by using my photographs to create art, making mandalas and using reflections in water to make semi-abstract pieces. I also create realistic photo-collages and mosaics which I hope will convey a strong sense of place.

Creating mandalas is a joy. In many spiritual traditions the circular shape represents unity, wholeness and the universe, and it is often sued a focal point for meditation. Mandalas mirror the cycles in our lives, and we find harmony in the repeated patterns.

The KALEIDOSCOPE EXHIBITION

at Cuppo cafe, 157 Melville Road, Brunswick West, Victoria, is open from 16th March to 23rd May 2026 and showcases mandalas and reflections. The pictures exhibited there are shown in the first section in the gallery. There is also an exhibit of garden art by Peter Frequin. See details in “About”.

‘Kaleidoscope’ typically refers to a pattern which is complex and constantly changing. Although my photographs have captured just one instant in time I hope to convey the incredible complexity of the natural world.

I enjoy taking photographs around my home town of Geelong and on the nearby Bellarine Peninsula, and have recently been focusing on the lichens and mosses on my bush block in the Otway Ranges. However, I also love desert landscapes, wild coasts and lush rainforests. Anywhere there are trees, rocks, plants or water I will be happy with my camera!

Our green spaces are extremely vulnerable to damage from human activity, including population pressure and climate change. I hope that by highlighting their beauty I can encourage people to treasure and protect them.

These photographic collages are available in limited edition print runs of 5 to 10.

Contact Gabrielle at treesetal@gmail.com for details. Archival quality prints are available in various sizes, from $50 for 20 x 25cm (8” x 10”). Price includes unframed print posted anywhere in Australia. Additional fees apply to postage outside Australia.

My partner, Peter Frequin, creates plaques and figurines from molten recycled aluminium. He has made most of his own equipment and enjoys experimenting with different techniques. He is currently focusing on garden art, featuring birds and animals. He paints the plaques with resin which makes them very durable and weather-resistant. Prices vary from $110 – $150 plus postage. For details contact him on treesetal@gmail.com. Photographs of his work can be accessed here.
